Couples Counselling
In relationships, we long to be heard, yet we often find ourselves caught in endless, repetitive arguments. My counselling practice focuses on Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT), which aims to help you move beyond superficial conflicts and reach the core of your connection with one another.
Here, we provide a warm, inclusive, and completely non-judgmental safe space where you and your partner can:
- Recognise Communication Cycles: Helps you identify the repetitive patterns that drive you apart, so you can stop blaming each other.
- Expressing Deep Emotions: Helps you learn to express your needs honestly, rather than pushing each other away with anger or indifference.
- Building Bridges of Trust: Rebuild bridges of trust to help both parties feel seen, valued, and supported in this relationship.
- Resources for Personal Growth: In addition to counseling sessions, I also provide a wide range of exercises for couples and practical resources to help you integrate healing into your daily life.
Group activity
Just as physical health can be improved through exercise, mental health can also be strengthened through consistent practice. In-person group activities include group study sessions, outdoor activities, and more. Topics covered in the group study sessions include communication and active listening, stages of child development, emotion management, setting healthy boundaries, and other common life challenges. In addition to learning about mental health, these activities also help foster social connections and provide opportunities to meet new friends.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can I tell if I need counselling?
Counselling provides a space for people to explore challenges and issues in their lives. There is no specific point in time or topic that determines whether you need assistance. However, if you recognise that your mental health or relationships with others are affecting and troubling your life, you can seek professional help to manage your emotions, clarify your thoughts, and adjust your actions to make a difference.
Chia Mindspace is committed to providing unconditional support and care to accompany each client in discovering their inner self. I believe that everyone has their own inner strengths, just like a seed, which thrives in the right environment, sunlight, air and water.
What is the counselling process like?
Often the counselling process utilises talk therapy, in which the client and the counsellor engage in a conversation about a topic that is of concern to the client or relevant to their goals. Other resources may be used in the process, such as articles, videos, or practising techniques.
What type of techniques will the counsellor use?
I typically use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Cognitive Therapy (EFCT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). My counselling approach is person-centered, so I adapt my methods and techniques to each individual’s needs and circumstances.
How long is a counselling session?
The first session lasts 75 minutes, and subsequent sessions last 50 minutes. The first couples counselling session lasts 75 minutes, and subsequent sessions last 60 minutes.
Depending on your individual needs, clients may also choose a 75-minute counselling session.
Consultation fees and cancellation policy
A 50-minute session costs $110, a 60-minute session costs $130, and a 75-minute session costs $150.
A 20% deposit will be collected at the time of your first appointment, and the remaining balance will be collected after the consultation is complete.
Cancellations, rescheduling, or no-shows within 24 hours will result in a full charge.
