Reconnect with Yourself, and Find Inner Peace and Strength
In our daily lives, we may unconsciously suppress our emotions and neglect our physical and mental well-being; over time, we may feel physically and mentally exhausted and lose sight of who we are.
Counselling provides a safe, professional, and confidential space. Here, you don’t need to put on any facade, nor do you need to worry about being judged. I will be there with you as you sort through your inner confusion, heal past trauma, redefine clear personal boundaries, and rediscover your rhythm of life.
What kinds of issues can counselling help address?
If you are experiencing any of the following concerns or feelings, you don’t have to face them alone. These are challenges that many people encounter at different stages of life, and they are issues that a mental health counselor can help you address together:
- Emotions and Physical and Mental Fatigue: Persistent feelings of high stress, anxiety, burnout, or low mood, accompanied by frequent episodes of unexplained physical fatigue.
- Feelings of isolation and a lack of understanding: Feeling that one’s true feelings are difficult for those around them to understand, accept, or hear, and feeling lonely.
- Suppressed and Bottled-Up Emotions: Many thoughts and grievances are bottled up inside, but because one “can’t put them into words,” “doesn’t dare to speak up,” or “doesn’t know how to express them,” they are left bottled up inside.
- The Dilemma of People-Pleasing and Personal Boundaries: Not knowing how to strike a balance between “being true to oneself” and “not offending or upsetting others,” habitually compromising, and finding it difficult to say no to others.
- Bonds with the Family of Origin: Due to the long-term influence of interaction patterns or the upbringing environment within the family of origin, recurring difficulties arise in interpersonal or intimate relationships.
- Childhood and Early Trauma: Unresolved childhood shadows or traumatic experiences continue to affect one’s current sense of security and self-worth.
How Can Counselling Help and Support You?
Counselling is not simply about “giving advice” or “telling you what to do”; rather, it is a collaborative process filled with support and exploration. During counselling, I will help you rebuild your inner strength in the following ways:
-
A Safe and Welcoming Space to Open Up: I create a non-judgmental environment where you can feel comfortable expressing the feelings and thoughts you’ve been holding inside. Often, simply putting your emotions into words is the first step toward inner healing.
-
Identifying Core Challenges and Emotional Blockages: This process helps you sort through your jumbled thoughts, see the root causes of your struggles, understand where your emotions are getting stuck, and learn how to untangle these deep-seated emotional knots.
-
Accompanying and supporting you as you become your true self: Explore and accept your authentic needs, establish healthy interpersonal boundaries, and empower you to express your true self in daily life while navigating interactions with others in a confident and mature manner.
-
Master Practical Strategies for Coping with Life’s Challenges: We’ll work with you to develop coping mechanisms and psychological tools to manage stress, emotional fluctuations, and life’s ups and downs, helping you build resilience in the face of life’s challenges.
If minor worries aren’t voiced or worked through over time, they often build up inside and become a huge psychological burden. Finding someone to talk to—and giving your emotions an outlet—is the first step in taking care of your mental health.
Frequently Asked Questions
How can I tell if I need counselling?
Counselling provides a space for people to explore challenges and issues in their lives. There is no specific point in time or topic that determines whether you need assistance. However, if you recognise that your mental health or relationships with others are affecting and troubling your life, you can seek professional help to manage your emotions, clarify your thoughts, and adjust your actions to make a difference.
Chia Mindspace is committed to providing unconditional support and care to accompany each client in discovering their inner self. I believe that everyone has their own inner strengths, just like a seed, which thrives in the right environment, sunlight, air and water.
What is the counselling process like?
Often the counselling process utilises talk therapy, in which the client and the counsellor engage in a conversation about a topic that is of concern to the client or relevant to their goals. Other resources may be used in the process, such as articles, videos, or practising techniques.
在首次咨商中,咨商师会为你介绍咨商的保密原则,并以温和的方式引导你分享目前面临的困扰与期待。你不必担心“不知道从何说起”,咨商师会陪伴你一步步梳理。
What type of techniques will the counsellor use?
I typically use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Cognitive Therapy (EFCT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). My counselling approach is person-centered, so I adapt my methods and techniques to each individual’s needs and circumstances.
How long is a counselling session?
The first session lasts 75 minutes, and subsequent sessions last 50 minutes. The first couples counselling session lasts 75 minutes, and subsequent sessions last 60 minutes.
Depending on your individual needs, clients may also choose a 75-minute counselling session.
